Energy Saving Lamps

In our homes 20% of the energy is used by bulbs. Usually in houses we use incandescent bulbs. Incandescent bulbs light when the filament inside that bulb gets heated. This process takes 90% of energy. So anything that helps to reduce the power consumption will also help to reduce the electricity bill. It is easy to save energy and can reduce your electricity bill with the use of energy saving lamps.

Fluorescent bulbs are more effective than the incandescent bulbs because fluorescent bulbs do not heat the filament to light the bulb. By using this energy saving lamp you can save the energy upto 66% so you can save your money. The other point is that these lamps last more than incandescent lamps. Even though the costs of these lamps are more you can still save money.

Comparing with the ordinary lamps the fluorescent lamps have 10 times more life. But the cost is higher than that of the ordinary lamps. But if you use the energy saving lamps you can see your savings in electricity bill. That is why most of the people are now using these fluorescent lamps.

Many years ago itself energy saving bulb was available. But due to the cost and size people were not interested in that. But now these lamps are available in all sizes and shapes and at comparable rates and also these lamps gives more light than the ordinary lamps. So people are now using these lamps and are now aware of the needs of energy savings.
